I was prescribed Amitriptyline for a chronic pain condition. It took a week or so to build up in my system but it eventually started reducing the pain I was feeling on a daily basis. It's not a solution but it does allow me to function. However, it did make me very drowsy until I adjusted to it.

The hydrocodone works well to take the edge off of my chronic pain. It doesn't give me any adverse side effects nor make me feel loopy or drugged up. I can work and function perfectly on it.

Lunesta works great for sleeping issues. It's different from most sleep assistants in that rather than knocking you out unnaturally, it simply allows you to fall asleep easier. Mind you, it's very effective, but it's a lot easier to take than some other similar drugs (*cough* Ambien *cough*). Be warned though, it does have a strange aftertaste which can last into the next day. This does go away after your body adjusts however. Also make sure to take it on an empty stomach.
